WELCOME TO FAUQUIER YOUTH CHEERLEADING!!!
We are excited to have you and your child join our cheer family. We have been an active part of the community for over 20 years. We welcome kids from within Fauquier County and the surrounding areas.
Our cheer program is open to girls (and boys) ages 6-13 years old (5 yr olds are allowed upon request and approval by the board). Cheerleaders are placed on squads based on their high school zone (Kettle Run, Fauquier, Liberty). In each zone, there are four age divisions: 7U (6-7 yrs old), 9U (8-9 yrs old), 11U (10-11 yrs old) and 13U (12-13 yrs old). Please note that the age division for your zone may or may not have a cheer squad. It all depends on how many coaches and cheerleaders we have sign up. If there is not a squad for your age division you will be placed on the squad of the next closest age group within your school zone. The cheer season begins with open registration in April-July. Cheerleaders are placed on squads and the rosters are released to coaches by the end of July. If you do not hear from a coach by July 27th please contact me at
. Our season runs from August -mid November. At the end of October (exact date still TBD), we will hold our annual Cheer Spirit Day so that all squads can show off what they have learned throughout the season.
Practices: Days will be determined by the head coach based on what days Parks and Rec release the fields to us. Fridays are a no practice day so families can support our local high school teams.
Cheer squads will practice cheer for an hour and a half twice a week and will have a conditioning day for an hour once a week. Practices will start with cheer camp on August 1st. Squad practices will begin the week of August 3rd.
Uniforms: Cheerleaders are expected to purchase a uniform (unless they have one from last year that still fits). Uniforms are to be purchased through our team store. A link to the team store will be provided once the store has been set up. You are required to purchase the shell, skirt and bloomers. The cost for these items is around $64. There will be optional items such as socks, t-shirts and practice shorts in our team store for you to purchase as well. Besides the uniform, you will also need white sneakers (which can be purchased from our league store or anywhere else you choose) and white ankle socks. Once the weather gets cooler, you will need black leggings and a long sleeve white shirt (you can purchase these anywhere). Uniform fittings will be held to ensure that everyone gets a uniform that fits properly. I strongly encourage you to wait to purchase the uniform until after you attend a fitting. Uniform fittings will be held in June and July at our equipment shed. Exact days and times are TBD.

8 Regular season games: half will be held home in Fauquier County and half will be away (Front Royal, Winchester)
